What is the refund policy if a camper has to leave early? In the event that a camper must leave the program early due to unforeseen circumstances, the refund policy will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Any unused days of the program may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the circumstances. However, we encourage families to consider the full program commitment and understand that withdrawing early disrupts the camp experience for other campers and our staff. Are the activities the same each week or does each week have a different theme? At Camp Excellent, we offer a diverse range of activities across seven categories: Art, Daily Challenges, Outdoor Fun & Games, Mini-Games, Mindfulness, STEM, and Team Building. While the activities under each category differ each week, our schedule provides a reliable structure. For example, STEM activities will occur at roughly the same time each day. This ensures that our camp runs smoothly and that campers, parents, and staff know what to expect. Unlike many summer day camps, we do not have weekly themes. Instead, our focus throughout the two months is to provide fun summer activities for kids at a higher level than they would experience elsewhere, while also integrating values into our programming. Some campers will join us for the entire summer, while others may only attend for a week or two. Art, STEM, challenges, and other activities will have different approaches each week, but we also include some popular activities that we plan to repeat. We continually innovate and make changes so that each experience is both familiar and new.
-
Are there any specific dress code requirements for campers? Our dress code policy for summer day camp is simple - we want our campers to be comfortable and safe while playing outside and/or participating in activities such as painting. As such, we ask that campers wear closed-toe shoes, loose-fitting clothing that covers the shoulders and midriff, and shorts or pants that are mid-thigh length or longer. We also recommend that campers wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from the sun. Tank tops and clothing with offensive language or graphics are not allowed.

What to bring to camp?Part of having a fun-filled day is making sure you stay energized and hydrated. It is important to bring some essential items with you. Campers should bring their own lunch and 2 snacks to keep them fueled throughout the day. We encourage you to pack healthy options such as fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain snacks. It's important to stay hydrated, so please bring a reusable water bottle as we have ice water available for refills. To protect your skin from the sun, we recommend that you bring and apply sunscreen regularly throughout the day. We suggest using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30+ and reapplying every 2 hours. You may may also want to bring a hat or sunglasses to further protect yourself from the sun. Sunburn can be painful and uncomfortable, and it is also dangerous for your skin's health. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, so please avoid bringing sugary drinks and limit sugary snacks. These can cause a sugar crash, making it difficult for you to fully enjoy the activities. Instead, try to pack low-sugar options such as fresh fruit, trail mix, or granola bars. Lastly, please label your water bottle, lunch bag, etc., with your name to prevent mix-ups. Thank you for helping us make Camp Excellent a healthy and fun experience for everyone!

Our staff is trained to recognize allergic reactions and will respond appropriately in case of an emergency. 3. What is the policy for cell phone use and electronic devices? At Camp Excellent, we understand that children may want to bring their cell phones or electronics with them. However, to ensure that these devices do not become a distraction from the fun and engaging activities we have planned, we do not allow personal electronic and gaming devices at camp. Therefore, we ask that all campers keep their cell phones stored in their backpacks or other designated storage areas during camp hours, and leave other devices at home. This includes all electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, and gaming devices. If a smartwatch is being utilized as a gaming device, we will ask that it be stowed away as well. We encourage campers to interact with each other and engage in the various activities provided throughout the day. At Camp Excellent, our activities are designed, in part, as a response to the impact of our reliance on electronic entertainment on the world. If a camper is found using their cell phone or personal electronic device during camp hours outside of the designated free time periods, the device will be confiscated and returned to the parent or guardian at the end of the day. We also ask that parents and guardians support our policy by contacting their child during camp hours through the camp phone number (801-810-5531), and we will relay the message to the child.
